Latch does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
The app operates entirely on your device.
The following information is stored locally on your device only:
- Locked applications
- Security preferences
- PIN or pattern configuration
- Lock timing preferences
- Theme and app settings
None of this information is transmitted to us or any third party.
Accessibility Service
Latch uses Android's Accessibility Service solely to detect when protected applications are opened so they can be secured.
The Accessibility Service is never used to collect personal information, monitor user activity, or transmit data.
All processing happens locally on your device.
Usage Access Permission
Latch requests Usage Access permission to determine which application is currently in the foreground.
This permission is used exclusively to trigger the app lock when protected applications are opened.
No usage history is collected or shared.
Display Over Other Apps
Latch requests overlay permission in order to display the authentication screen over protected applications.
This permission is used only to provide the lock screen experience.
Foreground Service
Latch runs a foreground service to provide reliable protection while the app is active.
The persistent notification exists only to comply with Android requirements for foreground services.
Notification Permission
Notification permission is used only to display the foreground service notification required for app protection.
Latch does not send promotional or marketing notifications.
Battery Optimization
Latch may request exemption from battery optimization to ensure reliable protection in the background.
This permission is optional and only affects the reliability of app locking.
Boot Completed
Latch may automatically restart its protection service after your device reboots if you have enabled app protection.
Biometric Authentication
If you choose to enable fingerprint or face authentication, verification is performed entirely through Android's Biometric API.
Latch never receives, stores, or has access to your biometric data.
Internet
Latch does not request Internet permission.
The app cannot transmit your information because it has no network access.
Analytics
Latch does not use analytics, tracking SDKs, or crash reporting services.
Advertising
Latch contains no advertisements.
Third-Party Sharing
Latch does not share any information with third parties.
Children's Privacy
Latch does not knowingly collect information from children.
