Privacy Policy

SessionMan saves and restores your browser sessions. It is designed to collect as little personal data as possible while giving you safety and control.

Data Collection

SessionMan does not sell or share personal data. We store only the data required to save and restore sessions, and we do not transmit session data or analytics to any remote server.

SessionMan stores locally:

  • Session metadata: window titles, tab URLs, timestamps, tags, and flags.
  • Feature flag overrides: import/export, analytics view, extended undo window, saved-clear undo, incognito visibility.
  • Security preferences: app-level lock state, saved-session lock hashes.

When enabled, analytics view may collect non-content usage signals (open/restore counts, error codes) to help troubleshoot. It never collects page content and runs entirely on your device—no analytics data is sent or stored remotely.

Storage and Security

Session data is stored using Chrome storage on your device. Passwords used for locks are hashed locally; SessionMan does not transmit your password.

If you export sessions, the resulting file is written locally by the browser. Import deduplicates entries before saving.

Permissions

SessionMan requests minimal permissions to operate:

  • Tabs and Sessions: to read current windows/tabs for saving and to restore them.
  • Storage: to persist session data, flags, and preferences locally.
  • Optional Incognito access: only if you enable incognito visibility. You can toggle this at any time.

What We Do Not Collect

  • Page contents or form inputs
  • Keystrokes outside the extension UI
  • Browsing history outside saved sessions
  • Advertising or tracking IDs

Incognito

Incognito windows are only processed if you explicitly allow incognito access in Chrome and enable the incognito visibility flag. You can hide or clear incognito sessions at any time.

Changes

If SessionMan’s permissions or data practices change, this policy will be updated and reflected in the extension release notes.
